Dear All,

My name is Lizzie and I am the founder of the Brave Little Fighters Foundation (BLFF), a new nonprofit organization in Buffalo, New York. We aim to ease the heartache, uncertainty, and challenges faced by children with serious illnesses by offering outings year round, all free of charge. Brave Little Fighters face a range of illnesses including cancer, cystic fibrosis, spina bifida, chiari malformation, neurological disorders, rheumatic diseases and other serious and terminal illnesses.

Brave Outings offer a unique kind of healing in a carefree atmosphere. Sports game, superhero family photo shoots, art and cooking classes, and trips to the pumpkin farm and theme parks are just a few of the outings we’ve hosted so far. One father said that he had not seen his son smile in so long... until our superhero photo shoot.

For a bit of background, in November 2018, I learned that my job, which allowed me to serve sick children, would be ending after 10 years. I knew what I needed to do and although it would be a challenging road ahead, within 3 weeks, I established BLFF. Despite having no funding in our initial months, I worked hard to establish our roots and grow the number of families we could impact. BLFF has quickly had a positive impact in our community and in response to our growth, we have offered 20 outings in less than one year.

More children are joining BLFF each day but we still have incredibly limited resources. I remain devoted to this work which is my life’s calling and it is my goal to be able to dedicate my time fully to Brave Little Fighters in the months and years to come. Building awareness, as well as a team, and creating and implementing our outings at no cost takes a tremendous amount of time and effort and I need your support to be able to continue this work.

With the holidays just around the corner, Brave LIttle Fighters is excited to host our 2nd Annual Christmas Party! The party will welcome more than 150 BLFF family members and is made possible entirely through generous donations from individuals in the community.  It will feature food, snacks, live music, games, a Santa Claus, face painting and a wonderful photographer for a family photo op on this festive occasion!  Most of all, the party will offer children a chance to be together and to connect with other children and families with other families. It is magical and heartwarming to see new friendships being formed and for children to say that they now feel that they belong to “something special”!

These children are truly the heroes and I want to continue to be able to work so hard for them! To support Brave Little Fighters Foundation, we invite you to make a donation. All donations will be used to host Brave Outings and continue growing the efforts of BLFF.

I also wanted to share several recent articles about Brave, which offer a strong sense of our mission: Buffalo News | The Pollination Project | Sweet Buffalo 716

Thank you all!

Sincerely,
Elizabeth + Brave Little Fighters
