A Miracle for Mickey
Donation protected
Once upon a time, June 7th, 1951 a little boy was born to Mickey and Esther Bishop in Marquette, MI. Mickey grew up in Ishpeming with 4 other sibilings. Laurinda, Cyndie, Rickey and Nancy. One other sibiling Roy passed away in 1953. Mick grew up with the nickname Minnow, cause his big sister Laurinda couldn't say Mickey, so she called him Minnow and that name has stuck with him for 63 years. Minnow graduated in 1969, then joind the Navy and served on the U.S.S. William C. Lawe for the next 4 years......traveling the world and exchanging gunfire in VietNam. A few years back Minnow was diagnosed with Stage 4 Colon Cancer. After Chemo, radiation and surgery to remove 18 inches of the colon, he then had to go to Mayo Clinic in MN for reconstructive surgery. This past summer he had to go in for some Hernia surgery(6 of them) caused by the previous surgeries.... By the mercy of God, he was given a second chance at Life, beating the Cancer. On January 20th, Minnow went to the ER for what he thought might be vertigo. It turned out to be Acute Myeloid Leukemia. So once again he is fighting for his life. Chemo has been the plan of attack, it is keeping him in isolation, because at this time he has no immune system what-so-ever. If his body does not start producing good blood cells, he may have to go to Milwaukee for a bone marrow transplant. I started this fund because of the costs involved with everything. Insurance just doesn't cover everything. Minnow's wife Teresa has been staying with him at the hospital as much as humanly possible. He can't have other visitors at this time because of his immune system. He is hanging on to his life by a thread. I will be coming in and putting updates on here as time goes on and developments happen. Thank You everyone from the bottom of our hearts. ~~ Minnow's Family~~
