Fighting Hunger

Tax deductible
Dear Friend,

As hunger rises, it’s important to remember those who struggle with hunger and food insecurity. In the United States alone, 41 million people face this challenge every day. Globally, over 345 million people suffer from food insecurity.

We are Jennifer and Wiley, founders of Altruistic FarmStead Inc. (a federally recognized 501(c)3 non-profit organization). Our journey began on Christmas day 2020 when we volunteered with a local organization to serve a free Christmas dinner to those in need. By the end of the day, we wholeheartedly felt that God was calling us to “feed his sheep” (John 21:17). Jennifer quit her full-time job at the United States Postal Service a week later and we got to work! Wiley quit his full-time job as a heavy equipment operator a few months later.

When we started, we would cook a nutritious meal in the kitchen of our 500 SQ ft. tiny home. We would pack it all up and head to a park in Shawnee, OK to give it all away. Why you ask? Because “It is more blessed to give, than to receive”. (Acts 20:35) At this point, we served 20-30 people each week. In December of 2021, the Emmanuel Episcopal Church across the street invited us to use their commercial kitchen and dining hall. As of now, we serve between 100-120 people per week.

It's been a challenging journey, but one that we’re grateful for. We’ve seen firsthand the impact that a hot meal can have on someone’s life. It’s not just about the food, it’s about the connection and love that we share with each person who comes through our doors.

But with the rising cost of food and other goods, we find it more and more difficult to continue serving. On average, our operating costs are $2,000/month. At the moment, we only receive about 20% of the donations necessary to keep going.
That’s why we’re reaching out to you today. We need your help to keep serving our community. Every single dollar makes a difference. Whether it’s $5 or $500, your donation will go directly towards providing a hot, nutritious meal to those in need. When in God’s hands a little can go a long way (Matthew 14:17-19) *ALL DONATIONS ARE TAX DEDUCTIBLE*

We understand that times are tough for everyone right now. But we also know that there are still people out there who want to make a difference in the world. If you’re one of those people, we urge you to consider donating to Altruistic FarmStead Inc.

Your donation will not only help us continue serving our community, but it will also help us expand our reach. We want to provide more than just a meal. We want to create a space where people feel loved and valued, where they can connect with others and find hope for a better future.

We believe that we’re all called to love and serve one another, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to do just that through Altruistic FarmStead Inc. But we can’t do it alone. We need your support.
Please consider donating today or you can mail a check to Altruistic FarmStead PO BOX 644, Tecumseh, OK 74873

Thank you for your consideration, and for your commitment to making the world a better place.

Sincerely,
Jennifer and Wiley
