Kelly Richards

For those of you who do not know, Kelly Richards has been in the hospital now forfive weeks. Kelly developed an infection and became septic. She had four surgeries in a matter of a week and a half. A wound vac was put on a large area of her stomach. All these procedures, along with Kelly being a Type 1 diabetic, have caused her kidneys to fail. She then had to start dialysis. The wound vac was removed, and Kelly was to start hyperbaric oxygen therapy. Due to this making her sick and extremely anxious, she was unable to continue. On Wednesday, April 24th, Kelly was starting dialysis when she went into cardiac arrest. She was in ICU for four days and any progress that had been made was set back. Kelly was working full-time with insurance and has short-term disability. Short-term disability will only pay a percentage of Kelly’s salary. With all the hospital and doctor bills after insurance only a portion of this will be paid, leaving the remainder to Kelly. The doctors have said she may be in restorative care for months and then will need rehabilitation. We would like Kelly to be able to concentrate on getting better and not have to worry about the amount of bills left to be paid. Any amount would be greatly appreciated.
