Our best friends Alisha and Braeden Cook of 10 years suffered a devastating loss this week. Their baby boy, Bennett Sonny Cook, passed away 2 days after being born due to complications during delivery. Alisha and Braeden have worked extremely hard to bring their babies into this world. It wasn’t something that ever came easy and that’s no exception to this, their 3rd pregnancy. Alisha loves nothing more than being a mother and was so excited to finally get pregnant with her 3rd child, sweet Bennett.
As her due date got closer, they learned Bennett was breech. She was always concerned about having a c section and was praying for it to go smoothly. Unfortunately that was not the case. In an attempt to flip him to avoid a c section, her placenta may have partially ruptured and Bennett’s heart rate dropped. They rushed her to emergency c section and within a mintue had baby Bennett out, but he was not breathing. They administered CPR more than once.
He was then life flighted to Spokane with Braeden.
I am sure Alisha's heart shattered in a million pieces as she had to watch them leave her. Braeden and Alisha had to have been in complete fear and shock. They put him on life support and Alisha was able to join Braeden the next day with her two other children, but it was confirmed that he went too long without oxygen. He was allowed to return to his Father in Heaven on June 17, 2020 while in Alisha's arms. He was the most beautiful, angelic and perfect baby. I can’t comprehend a devastating loss such as this and I know first hand how much a helping hand, a small donation can lift a family during a hard time. I am asking for anything you can donate that can go towards the family for whatever financial need they have at this time. I have little I can do to help this dear family during this extremely difficult time, but I do believe any little bit of financial help will help in one way or another. Whether is goes towards medical bills, the funeral costs or food to survive the next few months without the stress of buying and preparing food. I thank friends, family and strangers beforehand for the support you can offer this sweet family.
