5k a day in May
Donation protected
Hi everyone
As a group, you know we have been helping spread a little bit of kindness to people during the covid-19 pandemic.
Many of us are privileged enough to be in the employment of the NHS, and therefore have far more freedom of movement and fewer financial constraints, making life quite a bit more normal for us than some. On top of this, there has been such great outpouring of kindness and compassion from the general public, that has been overwhelming to say the least. And so, we wanted to show our gratitude from the NHS back to those others out there still working equally as hard in their jobs, or who's lives have been completely upturned during this time.
And so, the time has come to give back a little more. We have taken our lead from the inspirational Captain Tom Moore and realised that if this gentleman can get off the sofa and achieve what he has, we can move our bodies a bit more in the pursuit of funding too!
To that end, we will be completing 5k a day in May!
Starting from the 1st of May we will walk, run, hop, skip or jump 5k each day, right through to 31st May. On top of this, we have decided to split the funds raised between 5, incredibly deserving charities; Marie Curie cancer care, Sepsis Research - FEAT, Young Minds, Rainbow Trust children's charity and MND.
So, that's 5k a day split 5 ways!
This is going to be a team effort and you'll find the team members added below.
Each of us will individually complete our daily 5k, which ever way we decide best....but unfortunately I'm told not in the car! Always observing social distancing rules of course.
We have set our target at £1000, which would allow us to split this at an amount of £200 per charity. Of course every little amount donated by you, helps us reach that total!
However, if you would like to join our team, and take part in this event, raising your own sponsorship for each of our 5 chosen charities, please contact either Heather, Cheryl or Paul directly or find us via our FB page, NHS helping heroes.
All links to charity pages where their registered charity numbers can be found will be linked below. As well as our Facebook page where you can keep up to date with our progress.
Take care everyone, stay safe, and let's see us reach our £1000 target
