Build new home

Hi, my name is George Hill, and I live in Wayne, Pa. My best friend and his wife were victims of Hurricane Ian. They were able to evacuate Hurricane Ian but their house was destroyed along with most of or all of their possessions, furniture, clothes cherished memories. Now they are paying their mortgage with no place to live.

Barry and Joan Martin are from Broomall, PA and moved to Florida 5 years ago and purchased their home approx 2 years ago. Barry was active in Marple Twp. Sports programs and also did charity work through his work at ARCO, ARCO Chemical, Sartomer and Arkema. He also supported a March of Dimes softball tournament. His children (Jeff, Kori and Wendi) graduated from Marple Newton High School.

Barry is a proud Veteran of the Vietnam War Era, where he served for 4 years on a destroyer. He is a member of the American Legion, Moose Club, LaSalle Club and formerly with the Italian American Club in Wayne, PA. He and Joan have always been there for others and have never turned their backs on their friends and loved ones, they have always been the first to step in and help where it was needed. Please consider a donation, no amount is too little or too much.

Thank you so much for helping them to recover as best they can from this horrible situation. How long it will take for Insurance or FEMA to do anything is nothing but a guess. I assume Insurance will investigate at some point but with the overall destruction of this area it is possible to be many months if not years. People who suffered same type loss from Hurricane Sandy in New Jersey still have not received help.

Thank you so much from for helping the Martins to start the recovery period and let them find suitable housing while they continue to recover from their loss. A home, furnishings and stability is what we are trying to help them with.

Everything that is received will be sent directly to Barry and Joan. Not being sure how this works, but if they can withdraw funds themselves this is how it will be done. If only I can receive the Funds, I will send the money to them through the banking system or by Cashiers check from my bank. I am a disabled Vietnam Vet and former police officer and Detective with CID in Delaware County.
