MAB Community Refrigerator
Tax deductible
Many communities across the country have launched Community Refrigerators that provide perishable food accessible to the public at no cost. Mutual Aid Brockton is excited to launch several in Brockton, but we need your support in launching our FIRST Community Fridge.
Since the Covid-19 Pandemic, Mutual Aid Brockton has been a trusted community partner assisting the community of Brockton with food in the form of food boxes, food gift cards from local supermarkets like Vicente's, American Food Basket, and Market Basket and providing food distributions from Trader Joes through partnerships with local congregations like Messiah Baptist Church and the Brockton Haitian Assembly of God. We are aware that food insecurity remains a reality in Brockton. We are committed to launching several freely available food refrigerators throughout Brockton. We are asking the community, local businesses and organizations to consider making a financial contribution to ensure we are successful.
The funds raised will be used to support the host site with the rising cost of electricity, the wiring that may be needed to support the fridge, a generator, weatherizing of the enclosure, the labor and costs associated with this construction and the lighting and securing of the refrigerator. We thank you for supporting the project and will post more details about the initial launch date!
