Mac McTernen Family Fund

So, I bet you are all wondering why I brought you here today. It is with absolute broken hearts that we share with you all that Malcolm (Mac) McTernen passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, February 5, 2023.

Mac was a community builder with a bigger-than-life personality. A friend to all, quick to offer a laugh and a smile or to drop everything to help someone out. He was honest but kind, inclusive, and a bright light wherever he went. He loved nothing more than bringing his favorite people together from different circles and making family out of friends. Anyone that had the pleasure to know Mac can attest that he was a unique force of nature that made you feel like a good friend of many years, even if you had just met.

Mac leaves behind his wife Sarah along with their four children Sunshine, Sage, Elliot, and Rowan. As the asks of "How can I help?" have flooded in from every angle, we are all reminded of the incredible abundance of community that exists with an overwhelming desire to support Sarah and family both immediately and in the future. 

As Mac was the primary financial provider for his family, we are raising money to help assist with anything the family needs at this time. Contributions will be used to help with bills and expenses while financials are sorted out, unexpected costs associated with funeral/memorial services, along with the purchase of gift cards to their preferred grocery stores (in lieu of a meal train, which they have declined due to dietary needs).

Mac McTernen held a special and unique place in all of our hearts and played many roles. As a husband, father, son, brother, uncle, nephew, 49ers fan, beer lover, tech guy, audiophile, comedian, garage tinkerer, and the glue that held so many of us together. One of the strongest legacies he leaves behind is that he was a fierce, fierce friend.
