Mac needs your help! Don't let diabetes take this good dog.

I'm Bailey, and the gorgeous pup in the pictures is my "nephew" Mac. Mac is the best boy, ask anyone who knows him. Everyone loves him. He has the best smile and the sweetest snuggles. Unfortunately, Mac has been feeling like crap plus had a hotspot on his tail that was a real problem, so we got him into the vet. The vet didn't have great news - Mac is Type 1 Diabetic. According to the doctor, it isn't BECAUSE he's chunky, it's WHY he's chunky. This is going to be manageable with diet and insulin, but only if we can afford it, and to be blunt, we can't. Mac's person, my brother Greenjeans, just scrapes by most of the time. I help out by giving him a super-cheap roof over his head, but I can't afford to do much more than that.

Mac needs tests, then he needs care. We don't know yet what the total will be, but it breaks my heart to think of Mac suffering and not getting what he needs to thrive. I know most of our friends and family aren't in much better shape than us, but if you can toss a few dollars into the pot, Mac will love you forever.

If you've ever met this pup, you know what a delight he is to all around him. Our world would be so much dimmer without him. Please please help us get him healthy. The current goal is only a placeholder, and will be updated as we know more.
