Macaya’s Gymnast journey

Macaya is a 8 year old elite gymnast that has been doing gymnastics since the age of 6 years, It’s a sport she loves and is excelling in.

Macaya trains 20 hours plus at her gymnastics club, traveling a 45 minute journey each way, five days a week, as well as this she travels every Tuesday to Wrexham to train with the North area squad which she has been part of since the age of 6.

In the last 7 months Macaya has been selected for the welsh squad which means travelling down to Cardiff every 4 weeks to train as part of the welsh development squad.

In April Macaya had to retrial for the welsh squad and was re-selected, being one of only ten girls from wales to be chosen in her age group.

Macaya will continue to train with the welsh development squad on a 4 weekly basis, training  each time over a 3 day period. 

Macaya also recently competed in Cardiff for her Elite compulsory level 4 competition and placed 7th over all in wales which is a great achievement for such a young gymnast.

Macaya has big dreams for her gymnastics future, and has great potential to reach them, sadly with the extra cost of traveling, hotels, food, fees , kit and all the added extras that go with gymnastics, it is having an effect on us, as you can imagine this is a huge financial cost to our family,

We are now reaching out to our locals for help, 
we as a family would be so grateful if any company or locals, family and friends would like to donate to Macaya no matter how big or small, will help her to continue on her gymnast journey and to see her dreams come true of maybe one day becoming an Olympic gymnast,
