Macias Tragedy

On July 29th, about 1pm in the Black Forest area of Colorado, while visiting their son and grandchildren, my sister Marie Macias and her husband Luis, my 5 year old niece and 8 year old nephew were involved in a horrific car accident. As a result, tragically, my sister lost her life, she was 68 and just beginning to enjoy her retirement. In addition, her husband has been in ICU with a broken back, broken sternum and fifteen broken ribs. He may possibly need surgery and his recovery will be long and extremely difficult. Both children were also injured and hospitalized, but are expected to recover physically.

Since they are in Colorado and their home is in California, both will need to be transported back to their home state. Luis will require long term rehabilitation and care. Once both are home, funeral arrangements will have to be made for Marie to give her a peaceful final resting place.

Three adult children lost their beloved mother and ten grandchildren lost their Nana. My brother and I lost our sister, after already loosing our youngest brother to a violent death at age 25.

We are requesting financial help with transportation costs, funeral and hospital/medical expenses. Thank you all and any amount would be greatly appreciated by the entire family. This will help ease our financial burdens as we process and begin to heal from this devastating tragedy.
