When people find out that I spend 20 hours a week training at my dance studio, they think it's crazy!! Some of my friends and family wonder why I would spend so many nights and weekends away from them....instead of doing normal things a 13-year-old with free time would do. I know some people may not understand, but when I dance, I feel a tremendous sense of satisfaction and a complete connection to this art form, which has become part of my soul. I dance because it fills my heart with pure passion.....and allows me to express myself in movement much more eloquently than I can speak. When the music begins, I feel every muscle fiber in my body engage the way I trained and my brain kicks into high gear. It is the most exciting thing I have ever experienced, and it is my goal to make it my career and become a professional dancer.
I am sharing my story of my love for dance to help raise funds so that I can attend the New York City Dance Alliance Summer Dance Intensive in late July and early August. I will be staying at Pace University in New York City for two (2) weeks, working with some of the world's best choreographers. I would be grateful if you could help me reach my goal to further my dance training {no matter how small} because lots of little amounts can add up quickly.
