Mack Kitchen Memorial Plaque
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Alex, I met Mack (Morgan) in the week before starting grade 10 during my very first football practice at St.Mary's high school in Calgary, Alberta, where we lined up against each other on the line, and a friendship was formed with the very first hit. Mack was my best friend, and I had the gift of watching him grow up from a kid to a man willing to do anything to help those around him. He served in the CAF, the UK Royal Marines, and as a volunteer firefighter. This year was his first season of wildland firefighting, and tragically it became his last. Mack died on August 3rd, 2024 fighting the extreme fires that ravaged Jasper, Alberta. He wouldn't have wanted to go any other way if you ask me. He was a man who was willing to put it all on the line to help whoever he could, whenever, and however. For his heroic actions we believe he should be memorialized for the sacrifice he made to help Jasper, it's residents, and his crewmates, and are raising funds to pay for and install a plaque that will be able to weather the conditions of the Rockies for hundreds of years to come. Please consider donating to help us place this plaque in his honour, to be remembered for his sacrifice for many years to come. Thank you.
