Mackenzie Thayer’s Road to Recovery ❤️

Donation protected
It all started around Oct 14th Mackenzie couldn’t bare any weight on her right leg. After numerous doctors in Monterey, numerous X-rays, consultations, blood work, labs, imaging, 3 doctors appointments in one day we were finally given an MRI and told that nothing was wrong by an adult radiologist. The next morning a pediatric radiologist gave me a call and said that they definitely see something and we need to get up to Stanford ASAP as it could be a bone infection called osteomyelitis, a vitamin deficiency in her bones or worst case senario Leukemia.

Mackenzie went into emergency surgery Friday afternoon to put a drain in her knee and took samples of her femur, knee cap and blood cells and fluid. We are still currently awaiting results. Mackenzie is in a lot of pain and ready to go home. We have a long road ahead of us of physical therapy and doctors visits as we await the results here at Stanford.

The surgeon and doctors said this is our new home until we figure out what’s going on that her MRI came back abnormal.

The time lost from work and added medical expenses for the long road ahead is creating a stressful hardship. This was set up to help with all of Mackenzie’s medical bills and travel expenses.

I’m not the type to ask for help but we are asking for prayers for a quick recovery and asking for prayers that the doctors can find out what is actually going on.
