MacKenzie’s Journey to Walk Again

MacKenzie Maier was in a car accident on 5/18/23 and was airlifted to a trauma center in Shreveport, LA. We were all on our way to Louisiana Tech for her nursing graduation when we got a call that changed all our lives. She suffered a C6-C7 spinal cord injury leaving her with diminished use of her upper extremities and no movement of her legs. (Although she can wiggle her toes now!!!) We are now 1 week out from the accident. Mac is in good spirits and she’s determined to walk again! It’s going to be a long, hard road but she’s strong and a fighter! All our family asks is that you keep her in your thoughts and prayers. Many people have reached out about wanting to do something more to help and that’s what this fund is for. There will be a lot of expenses to get her the therapy and equipment she needs to have a fulfilling and independent life on her road to recovery. If you feel lead to give, everything will go toward getting her the best therapy and treatment there is to offer.
