"Macon" my way to Cape Town

A verse that has been on my heart and mind for the last few months has been Isaiah 6:8.  It reads, “Then I heard the voice of the Lord saying, ‘Whom shall I send? And who will go for us?’ And I said, ‘Here am I. Send me!’” I have prayed for God to lead me and to send me to the place where He best sees fit for me to play a small role in furthering the spread of the gospel, and I am beyond excited to have the opportunity to serve His kingdom this upcoming summer in Cape Town, South Africa. Just as Christ came not to be served but to serve (Mark 10:45), I hope to do the same during my time in South Africa.

During May, June, and July of 2017, I will be living in Cape Town, South Africa and working alongside Look, Listen, Love Ministry, as well as the Ubuntu Football Academy. This ministry believes in incarnating living, which is living among the people you are serving. This ministry also believes in growing relationships and in committing wholeheartedly to the mission of Jesus by living a life loving others the way that He loves us. I am extremely excited to be a part of this.

My role throughout my time in Cape Town will be to serve however I am needed. I will be building friendships with adults, teens, and children to share the love of our Father with them. I will be living with a host family in Ocean View and I will be completely immersed in the culture of the area. I am sure that I will have a ton of fun on this trip, but my main objective is to serve the people of Cape Town to the best of my ability. Throughout my time there, I will do whatever I can to give my all to the people I am surrounded by.

To be able to take the next step and let the Lord send me to South Africa, I need to raise $4,000. As this is an unpaid position, your money will go to flights to and from Cape Town, as well as food and rent for my time there. Any funds not used will be given directly to the ministry in Cape Town to support them.  I would be extremely grateful if you would consider joining me as a ministry partner as I begin this journey.  I am in need of financial support, but more importantly than that, I must ask for your prayers. Pray that this experience will help me grow closer to the Lord, pray that it will challenge me and grow me, and pray that the Lord will use it to make much of the name of Jesus in South Africa.

It is my prayer that this trip will give me the opportunity to grow and learn in a place that is new. I believe that stepping outside of my comfort zone will present me with opportunities to lean on the Lord like never before. I pray that my experience will pull me closer to God and teach me more about Him. I pray that my time in South Africa will allow me to share his love with so many.
