Macy and Ava McKenney Education Fund
On January 16, 2021, after a long battle with cancer, Jay McKenney stepped triumphantly into heaven.
So many people have followed their story and have already shown such love and support for Jay & Allison's daughters, Macy and Ava. And if you ever caught a glimpse of the McKenney family, it's no secret that Jay was a very special father with an absolutely amazing relationship with his girls.
The goal of this fund is to honor Jay's memory and carry on the love he showed for others. We want to come alongside his family in his honor to provide a fund dedicated to the girls' future.
Your thoughtful gifts will be held in an investment trust and managed according to specific parameters. This trust will include costs associated with their on-going education and may include other enduring needs beyond the day-to-day.
A very generous couple has offered to match the first $10,000 raised from this fund, so we want to ensure the funds are multiplied to help these beautiful girls as much as possible as they face the future and what lies ahead without their dad.
The backstory: In February of 2013, the family of Jay McKenney was changed forever as he was diagnosed with cancer. Specifically, Well-Differentiated Lyposarcoma which is a rare form of cancer that forms in the fat cells. Jay's body, specifically his stem cells, were aggressively prone to re-generating tumors.
For Jay, that meant four surgeries to remove those tumors, and in January 2021, his miracle finally came. He passed away in the morning hours, surrounded by the girls that he loved so much.
The weight of all of this nearly overwhelming. Yet, through it all, the family's attitude has been one of great faith in the Lord and willingness to do whatever it takes to live a life to glorify and honor Him. Macy and Ava continue to radiate joy and love to all they encounter, through their own breaking hearts.
