Mad Co Strong: Rollins Recovery from Hurricane Helene

As many of you have seen the devastation of this region in the aftermath of Hurricane Helene and have reached out to us wanting to lend support, we have heard you! It has taken us awhile to determine the reality of the impact to Madison County's residents, businesses, and ecology. We know much of the long term effects are still unknown. What has become clear is that each day presents additional immediate and future concerns for those who were personally impacted and for the county, as we now work together to rebuild and recover. These funds will be allocated to assist with the recovery efforts for the beautiful community of Rollins (our closest river neighborhood) where everyone lost everything. They are completely displaced, living out of sheds or off-site temporary housing and working day and night to figure out the next steps for tomorrow and beyond. Their needs are evolving and individual, ranging from reconstruction materials to demolition funds and equipment. There are currently volunteers for labor and more on the way. Let's pool our resources and help support this community as they find their ways, individually and collectively, through this devastation.
