Cyclone Enawo 2017
Build a HOME - SCHOOL
The last Cyclone Enawo in March 2017 took over 80 lives. Hundreds of people lost their homes the aftermath made already difficult living and transport conditions even harder. The life in one of the most beautiful, yet poorest countries in the world become a daily struggle of survival.
My experience convinced me to help people I have met.
My wish is to assist at least one family to return their life to safe and liveable conditions - to help them to build a brick home - school, which can resist floods and rains. The assistance is directed to people who care about the quality of their environment and the education of a younger generation.
The assistance comes to people who are in need and deserve our help.
I spent 3 months of my working holiday in a small town, Antalaha in the Sava region with the family of a popular local teacher. Their open hearts, humble nature, hospitality and wisdom become my inspiration. I feel thankful for the time they dedicated to me personally and to my project ‘employment opportunities with traditional textile techniques’ applied directly in the cyclone zones of Madagascar.
