Madam President & the Major: a Haitian Docudrama

Donation protected
This film focuses on a unique event in Haitian history and shows the decisive role Major Gerard Salomon played to protect President Pascal-Trouillot and ensure the success of the historical democratic elections of December 16, 1990.

Ms. Ertha Pascal Trouillot, the first woman Supreme Court Judge in Haiti became the first woman president in Haitian history, whose primary mission at the head of the country was to prepare and organize free and democratic presidential and legislative elections.

Under nightfall on the morning of January 7, 1991, Dr. Roger Lafontant, alongside accomplices
within the Haitian army, staged a coup d’état to overthrow President Trouillot and seize control.
However, thanks to the intervention of the battalion of Heavy Machinery Corps under the
direction of Major Gerard Salomon, the putsch was foiled, and her life saved.

To all who would like to encourage our actions with a donation, bequest, or any other type of
support, even the most modest gift is very precious to us. We appreciate your desire to support
our pursuit to tell the story of this unique event in Haitian history.
