Ever since I was little, I have wanted to become a veterinarian. Animals are my life, my passion, the reason I exist. It can be hard to explain the love I have for animals, I yell to strangers from across the street to tell them I love their dog.
For me, this wasn’t a dream I had just because I was five and loved my dogs. I truly want to help animals and save them. I am interested in learning all parts of the veterinary field.
My volunteer time at the Humane Society and Peninsula Friends of Animals allowed me to work with many different animals. I really learned how to get them out of their shells; Animals can tell you what they're thinking, you just have to listen.
Currently, I am volunteering at Sequim Animal Hospital to learn the ropes and start paying my dues. I'm also working with a local breeder to learn about French Bulldog breeding, early puppy care, and long term healthcare with her newest litter.
My end-of-career goal is to be successful enough to open my own 24-hour emergency veterinary clinics in my region. Unfortunately, that isn’t something we have anywhere near us. I believe I can not only save animal lives, but help our overall community as well.
