Maddie in her recovery

Thursday night Maddie, Lily and Megan were involved in a high speed head on collision from an intoxicated driver.

All of the girls survived the accident but Maddie is dealing with 2 fractured vertebrae, pelvic fractures, a knee fracture, completely torn ACL, and multiple ligament tears. She is home and stable now but will require knee surgery soon.

It’s unknown at this time how long she will be in recovery, but is going to be a long road filled it OT and PT and surgery.

Friends and family have been helping get a room and bathroom quickly renovated in the downstairs of the house as Maddie will be non-mobile for an unforeseen amount of time at this point. The bathroom had a standard shower/bath combo and had to be redone for roll in, walk in access. This is a big project and is going to cost about $2500 to complete the rest of the work and needs to be done immediately before she can take a shower.

In addition to the bathroom renovations that are needed, Maddie will have multiple appointments weekly for PT and OT, surgeries, and then more PT and OT after that. Because of this, Christine will be missing work and will not have an income during that time.

They are a family of 6 and missing any income with the increasing amount of expenses is going to be a huge challenge for the family.

Maddie has been overwhelmed by the amount of support and love everyone has been giving. She is in good spirits considering this life altering event her senior year.
