As many of you may have heard, a tragic shooting occurred at Florida State University on Thursday, April 17th. Among the injured was Madison Askins, a bright, kind-hearted student who was seriously injured during the attack. Maddie is currently in the hospital and, thankfully, is on the road to recovery—but the journey ahead will be long and filled with challenges.

We’ve had the privilege of being neighbors to the Askins family for over 10 years. They are a close-knit, loving, and compassionate family who have always shown up for others—and now it’s our turn to show up for them.

We are starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial burden of medical expenses, extended hospital stays away from home, and the ongoing costs associated with Maddie’s recovery and therapy.

The Askins family is strong, resilient, and united. While nothing can undo the trauma of this event, we hope this fundraiser can help lessen the weight they’re carrying and allow them to focus fully on Maddie’s healing.
