A Mother's Promise

When we brought Maddie home to be our forever daughter Jim and I knew she was amazing. However, she has exceeded our expectations as a daughter, a student, an athlete, a musician, and a human being. When her birth mother handed me Maddie, I promised her that we would nurture and support her in every way. We work hard to keep that promise.
Maddie aspires to be a doctor who runs. She dreams of studying at a competitive university and running alongside stellar athletes. She has done her part to attain her dream by immersing herself in a variety of enriching experiences in her high-school years. She has an intense dedication to her studies and her sport. She makes time in her grueling schedule for family, friends, and charitable events. Now it is our turn to support her dreams. We can’t do it alone.
Her hard work has paid off. She stood out in the eyes of the selection committee for the Washington Youth Summit on the Environment. They selected her to represent Indiana, PA at their annual summit to take place at George Mason University. This week long immersive experience will gain her a college credit along with an amazing opportunity to expand her learning, to network and make lifelong friends, and to bring environmental information back to her community and school.
We are seeking funding to help offset the costs of this experience as well as add to her college fund. She will be off to college before too long. We want to keep the promise we made to her birth parents on the day they handed us our amazing girl, trusting us to offer her the best life possible.
Thank you for helping us make that promise a reality.
Love, Liz, Jim, and Maddie
