Hi, my name is Melissa and I am a single mom doing this crazy life alone with my sweet daughter. She is almost 14 and AMAZING! I know I am biased, but she is straight A IB student involved in Junior Historians, she is in the yearbook class, she is in musical theater and she is a school cheerleader. She loves Jesus passionately and loves her friends no matter what! She has been a competitive cheerleader from age 7 until now. Absolutely LOVES the sport.
All of that is awesome and we were going along life not struggling too much. Then I was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. I am still able to work 40 hours a week at a chemotherapy infusion center, but that takes every ounce of energy I have.
i was working a job that paid well, but I worked 60 hours a week on average and started work at 4:30. This took a toll on my mind and my body.
Madeline or Maddie feel in love day 1 with the sport of competition cheer. When she is not at school, or in the gym, she is learning other teams routines in our living room. I just don’t see how I can take it away from her.
This sport is crazy expensive, like most club/travel athletic teams are. I have just hit a spot where I need help. Travel cost, hotel costs, food costs are all skyrocketing but my pay stays the same. And with MS I cannot handle another nursing job walking the floors. Plus all the travel we do to go to competitions, it would be very hard to find a second job with flexibility.
Thank you for listening to my story. Any dollar amount is so very appreciated! You are making this fantastic spitfire of a girl live her best life!
