Daintree floods family needs help, everything lost

I am writing to you today with a heavy heart, as I share the devastating story of my cousin Maddy, her husband Daniel, and their two young boys, aged 12 and 13.

Both cars, which held their precious memories and everyday necessities, were swallowed by the floodwaters.

Their camping trailer, a symbol of family adventures and togetherness, was also lost. Their world was turned upside down in an instant.

In the face of such adversity, Maddy and Daniel had no choice but to seek refuge on the roof, clutching their frightened animals tightly, the hours stretched on, filled with fear and uncertainty.

Thanks to the kindness of local heroes who braved the treacherous waters, they were eventually rescued.

Now, my dear friends, I ask you to imagine the pain of losing everything.

Clothes once worn with joy, now reduced to tattered rags. Shoes that once carried them through life's journey, now swept away by the merciless currents.

Family photo albums, containing cherished memories, now lost forever.

It is in this moment of despair that I reach out to you, with a plea for help.
