Help Maddy get the surgery she needs
Donation protected
Friday night two great people well known in the community returning from picking up the kids were made aware of a post on a community fb page of two dogs hit by a car.
A lovely couple driving past noticed two dogs injured on the road near the golf club and stopped to help them. They had been hit by an unknown driver who didn’t stop.
They took them to the emergency vet in Geelong. By the time they called and had identified them as Furphy and Maddy they were told beautiful Furphy didn’t make it and maddy needed bloods and X-rays asap. They took out a loan to fund this right away.
As well as grieving the loss of their boy Furphy they then found out maddy needed surgery. Front leg had 2 fractures, a fractured toe on back foot and a fractured tooth. Due to the huge expense this would incur and not being able to pay upfront they brought her home with pain relief. They also brought their beloved furphy home to bury him. Maddy cried the whole night after he was buried.
They have been trying to find a vet who would allow a payment plan to buy them time to find the money and have arrived in Colac tonight. Maddy is having surgery now and Chelsea, Scott and the kids are now not only dealing with the tragedy but also dealing with finding the money to cover the cost to save their baby girl maddy.
Chelsea and Scott didn’t want us to do this but as 2 people in the community who help, donate and volunteer every chance they can we thought this was the least we could do to try to help them and ease some of this financial burden when they are already dealing with so much.
Maddy also recently gave birth to 4 beautiful puppies Pilot, Stan, Moose & Pearl who are all still Portarlington locals.
Times are tough for all at the moment but if you could find it in your hearts to donate even a few dollars to help them save Maddy it would be forever appreciated.
Thank you for your kindness
