Justice For Madeline Spells Miller

On Sunday, July 10, 2022, the Miller Family lost their matriarch, Madeline Miller, beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. And the Spells Family lost their beloved sister and one of their most energetic family leaders. Two White Flossmoor, Illinois police officers, shot her to death while she was in the middle of an emotional crisis. Police body camera and dashboard video show that no effort was made to deescalate the situation, physically subdue, pepper spray, or utilize any method besides deadly and excessive force to control the 5-7, 110-pound, 64-year-old mother and grandmother.

Please help the final memory of Madeline Miller be something other than that of another murdered Black woman by the police. She was a loving wife, mother of two, and grandmother of eight. She was the fifth child in a family of eleven before multiple bullets from police weapons claimed her life less than a month before her 65th birthday and one day before her 35th wedding anniversary.

Madeline’s husband, children, and family are devastated and grieving. They need help finding peace and justice for a woman who was in distress but did not deserve to die because of it.

Madeline died in Illinois, a state where a young White man can openly slaughter innocent people on a national holiday and be arrested unharmed and without incident - while armed with an assault weapon - but a Black woman in distress standing in a doorway gets gunned down.
