Madelín, Frank, Marcelo, and Daniel
Donation protected
I met Madelín outside a Target this past winter. She had just recently arrived from South America and was living in a shelter in Chicago. Thankfully, the city was able to find her and her husband and two young sons an apartment. They paid her first few months’ rent, but the process to get work authorization has been long. Starting in June, they will need to pay $1,400 a month for rent.
I am creating this GoFundMe because Madelín and Frank currently do not have the means to pay for rent. Many of you have helped them with groceries, furniture, clothes, and even a bike for her oldest son (he talks about it every time I see him). I would like to raise enough money for them for at least the first three months of rent. Both her and Frank are looking for work, but this would greatly relieve the stress of becoming homeless from their plate.
Please share with your networks. I am grateful for anything you are able to give. And let me know what task, item, or compliment I can give to you in return!
