Madi Byers

Dear Friends and Friends of Friends,

This fundraiser is to raise support for a long time friend, Lori Murry-Byron and her daughter, Madi Byers, who has terminal cancer and a prognosis that has been shortened.

Madi is 28 years old and was diagnosed in April 2023 with Glioblastoma Brain Cancer which has no cure. She also has Li-Fraumeni Syndrome which is a genetic mutation that predisposes those who carry it to developing malignant tumors of all types. Madi also lost her dad to cancer resulting from this syndrome when she was 7 years old. She had a craniotomy on April 17th to remove the brain tumor and her team thought it would be at least 9 months before they saw regrowth. Her radiation oncologist gave her a prognosis of 1 to 1.5 years after having the surgery and with radiation. Unfortunately, they are seeing tumor regrowth now, which most likely will shorten that prognosis.

Madi has 1 younger brother, Sawyer, and 1 younger sister, Ainsley. Madi is a wonderful girl who loves the Lord with all her heart and puts her trust and faith in Him.

Madi does have a bucket list of what she would like to do. I am hoping with this GoFundMe, that she and her family will be able to spend this precious time together, creating memories for her family and giving her some happiness while she is feeling up to it and able to. Some of those things on her list are to go to Banff, Long Beach, Victoria and Portland.

Lori and Madi, along with their family, are most grateful for your support. Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers as they are on this most difficult journey.
