Madilynn get a seizure alert service dog

My name is Katelyn. My daughter Madilynn is 4 years old, when she was 3 in february of 2021 she was at my brothers house and had a seizure and completely blacked out, in March she had another seizure in my vehicle and I took her to the ER, they made a referral for her to go to Rochester MN to be seen by Neurology, in April she had an EEG and was diagnosed with a seizure disorder. Fast forward to february of 2022 she had a seizure at school and her teacher recorded it and I sent it to her Neurologist, and in March she had a 15 minute seizure in my vehicle and I called 911, we had a follow up appointment with her Neurologist and she diagnosed her with Epilepsy. She ordered her to have a 24 hour EEG which happend on 5/12/22 where the test showed she has Brain slowing with multifocal cerebral dysfunction in the frontal head regions. She has Dysrhythmia grade 3 and focal seizures along with Generlized (grandmal) seizures. She also was showing seizure activity on her EEG while she was awake but was showing no signs of them on the outside, during sleep her brainwaves went normal and during wake they were all over the place.

In the time frame of when she was first diagnosed in April of 2021 to May of 2022 she has had roughly 22 seizures thankfully only 2 of them resulted in hospital visits.

Her Neurologist suggested we look at getting her a Seizure alert dog. The program we have looked into (Tails For Life Inc.) has a mandatory fund/donation amount of $25,000 to start the process, we also have to travel to Fon Du Lac WI ( around 2 1/2 hours from us) once a month to get used to our puppy and for the puppy to get used to us. Any amount of help will go towards paying for her dog along with purchasing extra items for her dog and putting money away to cover travel costs for future appointments in Rochester. We are only asking $6,000 for this GoFundme because we plan to do benefits, Garage sales, brat sales, to try to raise the rest of the money.

We feel a dog would really benefit her and our family so she has a friend to comfort her while she has and after she has her seizures, to have extra precautions and for me and her dad to have a piece of mind when she is having a seizure as her dog would be trained to alert us when she has a seizure.
