Madison Charland Leukemia Fund

Donation protected

Madison Claire Charland was born on May 6th, 2020, to her parents Eric and Sherri Charland. Eric and Sherri were filled with joy that they finally had a happy and healthy baby girl! Madison lights up any room with her smile and laugh. Everything was going great until Madison developed a rash on her arms and legs with belly pain and was inconsolable, which led to a visit with her pediatrician on March 12th, 2021.

The pediatrician noticed signs and symptoms that prompted an immediate trip to the emergency room at Maine Medical Center. Sherri and Eric were thrown into a whirlwind as a once happy and healthy baby was now being ushered up from the emergency room to the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. Madison was diagnosed with B-Cell Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia the next day after many tests.

Now Madison is in for the fight of her life and she is only 10 months old. She will have to undergo very intensive chemotherapy for a month at the Barbara Bush Children’s Hospital. If the chemotherapy goes well and kills off the cancer cells, Madison still has a long trip ahead as she will need to continue to receive chemotherapy for up to 2 and a half years to keep the cancer from coming back. Due to Madison being under 1 year of age, her Leukemia can be very difficult to treat and we can only hope that the initial treatment works so Madison does not have to have a bone marrow transplant.

Her mother Sherri is going to be out of work for at least a month while staying with Madison everyday while she is in the hospital. Since there will be significant medical bills and a loss of income, her father Eric is going to try to continue to work during this trying time. Eric and Sherri have a very supportive family and they are doing everything that they can to try and help.

Even with the help from family, Eric and Sherri will still undergo a very difficult financial situation. The last thing that they need to worry about is the bills still coming in while trying to focus solely on Madison’s health. Since this is the case, we are asking for any donations that will help with Madison’s medical bills and the significant loss of income. Even the smallest donations will help so that the full focus will be on getting Madison into remission and becoming cancer free!

Thank you for taking the time to read this❤️

Sincerely,

Eric, Sherri, family,  and most of all Madison!
