Madison Maribel Lopez, also known as “Madi” to those who were close to her, passed in the peace and comfort of her home surrounded by her family on August 11th, 2018 at the tender age of six years old. Although Madison was born with long-term health conditions, she was constantly advocated for and unconditionally loved by her parents, Blanca and Manuel Lopez, and her family. In Madison’s brief journey here on earth, she had a gift of touching and inspiring everyone that she met; they felt instantly connected and fell in love with her. Madison found pleasure and bliss in the simple things life had to offer such as music, getting her nails painted, fireworks, having her hair styled, and playing in water.
Madison was preceded in death by her grandfather, German Lopez. She is survived by her parents, Blanca and Manuel Lopez; by her brother, Anthony; by her sisters, Lydia and Hailey; by her grandparents, Daysy, Orbelina, and Lidio; by her aunts and uncles, Lisa, Jay, Carlos, Marisol, Chris, Reina, Eddie, Ramona, Danilo, and Leidi; and by her cousins German Jr., Karla, Isabella, Christian, Brianna, and Irvin.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to the doctors, staff, and specialists who played an important health role in Madison’s life. Her pediatrician, Dr. Moore, who always took the time to be available for Madison and was always able to perform beyond being her pediatrician. Madison was blessed to have Dr. Moore and the staff at Pediatric Health Care in her life. Extended thanks to Dr. Emily Freilich, Dr. Nguyen, Dr. Amy Kao, Brittany Cines, Sarah Kimball, Gayle Gilmore, and all the staff at Children’s Medical in D.C.
Family, friends, and others who have been touched and inspired by Madison and her venture throughout her life, please join her family for the following services. The Loudoun Funeral Chapel, 158 Catoctin Circle SE, will host an overnight viewing commencing at 6:00 pm on Friday, August 17th, 2018. This will then be followed by a funeral service on Saturday, August 18th, 2018 at 10:30 am. Interment services will take place at the Leesburg Union Cemetery, 323 N King Street, at 1:00 pm.
Thank you for your time and donations.
