Half Marathon in Loving Memory of Juliette Sonobe

In loving memory of Juliette Sonobe, we - Iain, Benjy, Josh, Gabriel, Matt, Qasim, Joey, Henry, Ben and Joe - will be taking on the Madrid Half Marathon on 7th April.
We have set up this page to raise awareness for three very important causes: Papyrus Prevention of Young Suicide UK, Mind and Lombok Dogs Animal Shelter.
Founded by a group of parents who have all lost their children to suicide, Papyrus is dedicated to the prevention of suicide and promotion of positive mental health and emotional wellbeing in young people. They provide a free, confidential helpline, advice and resources, training and fundraising to raise awareness of suicide. Papyrus exists to reduce the number of young people who take their own lives, by shattering the stigma surrounding suicide and equipping young people and their communities with the skills to recognise and respond to emotional distress.
The second organisation we are raising money for is Mind. Founded in 1946 as the National Association for Mental Health, Mind has an over 70-year history of giving advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem. They campaign to improve services, raise awareness and promote understanding.
We would also like to make a small contribution to Lombok Dogs Animal Shelter. Surrounded by her own cats and dog while growing up, Juliette always had a strong compassion towards animals and their welfare. She went to volunteer at a number of animal shelters in Thailand and South Africa where she looked after animals with other volunteers who later became friends for life. She described these trips as some of her happiest times. In recent travels away in Indonesia, Juliette and Joe found a dog shelter called Lombok Dogs where a man called Bader looks after a huge number of animals and works extremely hard to make sure strays are given the proper medical treatment and fed, finally being relocated to a new home. Donations will help to fund a new project that will be crucial to develop new infrastructure to support more and more dogs.
