Maestro Roger Bobo - Emergency Hospital Care

Thank you for your support. Roger remains in Urgent Care in a Hosptial in Oaxaca with moments of lucidity. His punctured Lung due to a Broken rib perferation Is showing signs of healing. He will remain in Hospital and will Likely need hospital care for some weeks.

Hi all,

I’m Melody Bobo, Roger Bobo’s daughter.

You know Roger as Maestro, I know him as dad.

He’s taken ill in Oaxaca, Mexico - his home and it would be amazing if you could help out in any small way.

Maestro has travelled the world and wowed many with his effervescence, bad dad jokes, and of course at the center, his innate musical talent.

While a superb tuba player in his day, he found the most joy in teaching, 1 on 1, masterclasses, you name it. And I recall he always gave more time and energy than required.

Since his last tour in Taiwan he’s been medically challenged since returning home to Oaxaca Mexico in late December. Yesterday, January 9th, he was taken to the hospital with low oxygen and low heart beat. He’s awake and talking even though his body is failing him. He’s in need of extensive emergency care as the medical professions try to stabilize his body.

I’m hoping the brass community can rally together to help me support him in Mexico, where dear friends like Ligia are working tirelessly to navigate emergency care as well as trying to find more type O blood type which Roger desperately needs.

I don’t know the costs as of yet. The longer he’s in ICU/ER/A&E of course the higher the cost. His USA medical insurance does not cover anything in Mexico - so this is all out of pocket.
