M.A.G. Mini-Marathon Fundraiser: Children Not Numbers
Donation protected
Mothers against Genocide was set up in October 2023 by a group of woman, mostly mothers that were horrified by the genocide that was occurring in Palestine. Our aim is to draw attention to the plight of Palestinians. We are committed to doing our upmost to make sure that the people of Palestine are not forgotten.
Since October 2023 terrible crimes have been committed against children:
- 15,780 plus children have been murdered
- 17,000 plus children have been orphaned (many of which are now unaccompanied)
- UNICEF estimates that over a thousand children have become amputees.
With these heartbreaking figures in mind Mothers Against Genocide have decided to enter a team in the Dublin Mini Marathon on the 2nd June 2024 to raise funds for the organisation "Children not Numbers" who work on the ground in Gaza.
Children Not Numbers was founded by two mothers from London and Hertfordshire, driven by the urgent need to support Palestinian children caught in the midst of conflict. The core belief is that every child deserves a chance to thrive, not just survive.
The escalating crisis in Gaza has left countless children in dire need of medical attention, support and hope.
The children of Gaza need us NOW more than ever.
Given the active conflict in Gaza, the first and most immediate focus of Children Not Numbers is to highlight the woefully inadequate international response which has left these children abandoned and hopeless. They deserve action, accountability and dignity now and when the war ends.
Children Not Numbers work spans across several critical areas to support the ill and injured children and their families. From facilitating urgent short term medical evacuations to providing necessary medical aid and long term rehabilitation services, the Children Not Numbers team are dedicated to the well being and empowerment of affected children. Through advocacy and education they also strive to mobilise resources and drive policy changes for the betterment of children's lives. Every child matters right now.
