Maggie’s IVDD surgery

Hey everyone,

It absolutely breaks my heart to write this and I’m not normally the type of person to reach out, however, in the last 24hrs my Maggie has gone downhill very fast with what we suspect is IVDD - she is now paralysed with her back legs and with no feeling. I’ve had to make the hard decision of deciding whether to go the conservative way with management of the disease or the surgical way. Considering how rapidly she went down hill and with research and opinions I’ve made the difficult decision of going the surgical way in hopes of her coming out the other end painless and with a chance of living a normal life again. I’m not going to go into detail of the gruesomeness of the disease or the recovery as most of you Dachshund owners are fully aware of the disease and what it entails.

I’ve also started a go-fund me as the costs of this sort of thing is saddening in itself. If you feel like making a small donation (honestly even $1 is better than nothing if you feel up to it), I’ll forever be grateful - otherwise please, all I can ask is you keep my baby Maggie in your prayers ❤️
