The Story:
Debbie our founding team member explains why we will be walking to another ICONIC building that has stood the test of time Machu Picchu.
" After the doctor had told me I had Bowel Cancer (January 2018) when I thought I was just a bit under the weather - I was absorbing the news in a state of shock, when a nurse asked me if I was ok. For no known reason I responded with “I’m going to Peru”. 1 year on from bowel cancer I was dealing with lung cancer. So 2 surgeries , chemo and other personal challenges along the way I found I needed to make it all count. So from a few random words, the support from a building full of amazing people and huge dose of music which smoothed out the bumps and helped me manage the metaphorical mountain I had climbed, I called a few friends with an idea and spoke to Maggie's and so it began MAGGIES ROCK PERU"
The Team Together
Debbie's passion for music (with a huge part in her recovery journey being a particular band the Foo Fighters and the determination to rock out with Dave Grohl) and the amazing team at Dundee Maggie's Centre she called a few friends and asked them to join her, so here they are delayed a bit by covid-19 but still as determined as ever to be there with her.
Team Members
Debbie, Debs, Caroline, Karen, Liz, Linda, Gillian, Eilidh, Kirsty, Mary Jo and Louise (Mrs Motivator fitness coach - OMNI)
Covid-19 has has hit Maggie's fundraising hard so ANYTHING you can give will count.
