Support Maggy's Stroke Recovery

Magali Armenta had a massive ischemic stroke affecting her right MCA on Friday, August 16. An ischemic stroke is caused by a blockage in an artery within the brain, usually by a blood clot. The doctors don't know exactly what caused her stroke, but it damaged the right side of her brain and paralyzed the left side of her body. During all of the testing, doctors noticed heart palpitations and were able to locate a small hole in her heart that the doctors believe the clot traveled through to reach her brain and will be needing heart surgery to fix that issue also. This stunned everyone in our family, friends, and even the medical professionals since she is only 28 years old, way too young to be a victim of a stroke.
This has devastated our new family, being married on Sept. 22 2018 (which also happens to be Maggy's birthday) but has affected Scotty, our son, even more. He is currently being taken care of but it will be a lifestyle change that any of us saw coming or know really what to expect moving forward.
She was in the Neurology Intensive Care Unit at Kaiser Sunset but has since been transferred to Glendale Adventist Medical Center for physical therapy since August 23 to try and regain strength/movement to left part of her body. She is getting physical, speech, and occupational therapy, to re-learn how to walk, and function with everyday tasks since she isn't able to utilize her left side of her body.
She is in good spirits and we are taking things day by day. For those of you who know Maggy personally, you know she doesn't back down and spends all of her days with a smile on her face. Even though she understands the severity of this situation, she doesn't let it weigh her down.
I have started this GoFundMe for Maggy to help with medical expenses and general financing support as she recovers since this tragedy will affect her ability to work, drive, and perform everyday tasks. We are hopeful that we can raise funds to alleviate some of her financial burdens so she can recovery with minimal stress.
Thank you all for your support and prayers. Maggy, Scotty and I will keep you posted on her progress through Notifications on this page. Please check back often and share with your friends and family on social media and via email. The more people who know about Maggy's situation, the more positive vibes and prayers will come her way.
If you would like to donate through other platforms or by other means, please reach out directly. We will gladly take all the help we can get.
