Magic Jack Maxwell and Family - Flood Relief

Hi, my name is Eric Kurit and I am setting up this page to help my very good friend Magic Jack Maxwell and his family.

Magic Jack is one of the nicest and friendliest guys I know. He is always there when people need him. He is also an amazing professional magician and a super family guy. As a matter of fact, Wednesday night, April 12, he took his family to the movies when it started raining. This felt like a typical rainy Wednesday night, but the rain kept falling.

All of a sudden, people's phones started beeping with emergency weather alerts. There was flooding all over South Florida. There was water everywhere, several feet high. You could see what looked like cars floating down US1. It was bad.

He looked at his 'ring camera' via the phone and noticed water entering his house. At this point, it was too late to do anything. Even if he were home, there was probably not much he could do. You could later tell by the watermarks on the wall that the water was 2-3 feet high.

He rushed home, but the neighborhood was submerged. He had to park a few blocks away and walk through the cold flood waters just to discover what he already knew… His house was flooded.

The water ruined everything that touched the floor. That means, the floors, the walls, the furniture, his personal items, including his magic and by magic I mean, his magic tricks, his sound system, his traveling cases, his posters, his backdrops, everything he uses in his job as a professional magician was waterlogged and ruined.

To make this even worse, he has no flood insurance.

Magic Jack is a hard-working family man and professional magician, so besides losing much of his personal belongings, losing his magic/work supplies means he is pretty much out of a job.

I’ve known Jack for nearly 20 years and I can assure you, that if it was just him, he would sleep on the floor and deal with the disaster. However, he supports his wife and 2 teenage children. Unfortunately, without his supplies, he is unable to currently provide for them, his hands are tied.

Let me tell you… I put together this page because Jack is special.

I know that this situation could be anyone. This was not caused by negligence, lack of caring, lack of preparedness or anything. This is a guy who took his family to the movies and came back to experience a nightmare… One without warning.

This is a guy that, with the right tools and a little help, he will be back on his feet and soon. This is a guy where the money WILL make a difference.
