Magic For Marina ✨ - Adjusting to life without vision

Dear friends, family, and strangers on the internet (again),

I wish I could say I was happy we were meeting again, but that would be unlikely on this site. If you have been following Marina's story, we first launched our Magic for Marina fundraiser two years ago with what we thought was the worst of news.

If you are unfamiliar, Marina was diagnosed with Stage-4 Sinonasal Undifferentiated Carcinoma in October of 2022. In non-medical terms, a very rare malignant tumor was discovered on her cribriform plate.

We started the first GoFundMe, Magic for Marina, and were met with overwhelming love and generosity by you, the community. We cannot thank you enough for the donations, shares, and well-wishes for Mar which have really gone so far over these last two years. After receiving her Master’s Degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Chico in 2022 and putting a pause on her a new job as a Speech Therapist for children at a local elementary school, the donations were used for treatments, travel to said treatments, housing, and other costs in easing her healing journey.

I am back with an unfortunate update:

Over the last couple years, Marina has received 3 craniotomies to combat a persistent tumor. This past December, she had to have her right eye removed and has now completely lost vision in her remaining left eye, rendering her legally blind.

We didn’t expect this turn, but Mar remains in high spirits even so!

We have decided to relaunch the Magic for Marina fundraiser as Marina continues to adjust to this new reality. Any donations will go towards the following:
