Flood Recovery for Maggie and Nick

My name is Natalie Ross, and I have set this GoFundMe page up for my sister, Maggie Ross, and her boyfriend, Nick Thibodeaux. On the morning of Saturday, August 13, Maggie and Nick evacuated their home in Denham Springs, Louisiana due to water rising in the area. They only brought items to last them up to two days - thinking this would be a rather quick event - nothing major - and that they would be home and life would be back to normal quite soon. That is not at all what happened.
Maggie and Nick's home was completely flooded with up to four feet of water. This water came from the neighboring interstate as well as a nearby water treatment plant - bringing with it unknown contaminants. The three-bedroom house that my sister worked so hard to furnish and make a true HOME over the past two years is GONE. Clothes, furniture, found thriftshop treasures, childhood items, mementos...all GONE.
Yes, it is TRUE that Maggie and Nick are alive and safe. It is TRUE that their pets - three dogs and a cat - are also alive and safe. It is also TRUE that we are blessed they currently have a place to stay as they begin to weed through the aftermath of this tragedy (literally and emotionally). However, money is still needed in the interim to pay for basic living expenses and boarding fees. (Maggie and Nick's three dogs cannot stay where they are currently staying, so boarding fees are adding up quickly - at $45 per day.) Money will be needed after the initial clean up period, too...when Maggie and Nick go to find a new place of residence and begin to buy items to help rebuild and get life back to "normal."
Both Maggie and Nick work jobs that offer no "paid time off." In fact, it is unknown day to day - thanks to the recent floods - whether their places of work will even be open. In addition, Maggie and Nick have NO TRANSPORTATION to get to work. - All vehicles, including the brand new car Maggie had just purchased to replace her old one THE DAY BEFORE EVACUATION, are presumably TOTALED.
Anything you can give will help: ANY AMOUNT. If you cannot spare any money, please look around your house for items you may not need or use; they will have to rebuild after they clean up. I don't want to overwhelm Maggie and Nick with STUFF, so perhaps the mailing of that can wait a few weeks. But, please contact me if you would like a good address to which you may send "care packages" or necessities.
