In Memory of Maha Tiimob

"Whatever sense of order we had in our lives was irreparably shattered when fate dealt us that brutal and tragic blow on September 5th, 2023. As a family, we never expected to find ourselves plunged into the depths of despair and sadness we currently are struggling to manage.
We wish to extend our deep and sincere gratitude to every person that has shown any support for us; through prayers, by visiting and sharing words of comfort and solace, by gifting food and other essentials of life, and by donating financially to support us, as well as plans to honor our Maha’s memory.
With your support, Maha was flown in from Illinois, late night of Monday September 18th, 2023, and on Wednesday September 27th, 2023, we were finally cleared to visit with her at the funeral home.
This whole experience is one we wouldn’t wish on our very worst enemy… To spare words, we are a broken family…. a broken family which is trying its very best to comport itself and gird its loins for what lies ahead, with particular focus on giving Maha the dignified treatment she wasn’t given in life, and fighting like hell for justice in her name.
People continue to ask how they can help. Your financial contributions have been particularly helpful to us, as we try to navigate issues and events that no family ever plans for. Our top priority is to pay all the expenses associated with Maha’s funeral, and to be able to travel to Illinois for the trial. As this will include travel, hotel and time away from work, we humbly ask those who loved Maha to help us spread the word about the GFM campaign and donate if able.
Maha was a passionate advocate for the quiet and marginalized, she was the loudest cheerleader of those around her… so a commitment to fighting on her behalf is absolutely fitting; she would do it for us."

We are devastated to share the tragic news of the loss of Maha Tiimob to intimate partner violence. She was a beloved daughter, sister, and friend. Maha's life was taken from us far too soon, leaving a void in our hearts that can never be filled. In her memory, we are raising money to bring Maha home from Troy, Illinois, cover her funeral expenses, support her family during this difficult time, and create a lasting legacy that will help victims of intimate partner violence.
Maha was incredibly involved in both her high school and college communities. She had an immense passion for life and a vivacious personality. Maha was loved by everyone who crossed paths with her. It was hard not to love her. She was a kind, compassionate, and fiercely strong individual who cared so much for others. Maha's selflessness knew no bounds, she never hesitated to make time for her friends, speak to strangers and lend a helping hand. Anyone that knew Maha can hear that infectious laugh, and her smile could brighten even the darkest days. Maha had dreams, aspirations, and a promising future ahead of her.
