Mahopac Family in Need
Donation protected
On December 23, 2020, at about 3 a.m., Lisa and Eddie Heitmann experienced one of the most traumatic events possible. They woke up finding their newly purchased home fully engulfed in flames. With just the clothes they wore to bed, they were able to escape the home with their 22 month old son and elderly mother. Besides some scrapes and frostbite, and by the grace of God, they were able to walk away. Unfortunately, they stood there watching their life saving burn to the ground and cherished belongings disappear as well.
The Heitmanns come from a family of Civil Service (NYPD, NYS Courts, Air Force, Navy, Marines and Army) and exemplify the true meaning of selfless service to this Nation.
Will you stand by me to show our gratitude to this patriotic family and help them get through this difficult time?
Anything that you can contribute will mean the world to them! Thank you.
**A special Thank You to the Mahopac Falls Volunteer Fire Department, mutual aid Fire Departments, as well as the Carmel Police Department and EMTs who showed great courage during this horrific event. You are all heros!
