UPDATE 1: 

Maija's first round of treatment went very good. She hasn't lost her hair yet but we expect her to start losing it soon. It's been 7 days since her chemotherapy treatment which means her body is starting "Nadir" meaning the point in time between chemotherapy cycles in which you experience low blood counts and make you more susceptible to getting sick so we are being very careful right now. She is staying positive and going for walks when she can. All the love and support from her family and friends makes each day a little easier. Her next chemotherapy treatment is scheduled for December 17th.

INITIAL MESSAGE: 

Hello Everybody, 

Maija has been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Adenocarcinoma, HER2 Positive. This is an aggressive type of Cancer that requires 6 months of Chemotherapy and then surgery (either a lumpectomy or a double mastectomy)

Maija's Cancer is an aggressive type called HER2 Positive and has spread to her lymph nodes. She has to have surgery and Chemotherapy to survive. We have no other choice but to put our lives on hold and deal with this and beat this cancer. 

Funds are needed by middle of January but will be used to fund the 6 months of Chemotherapy and the expenses for traveling into Portland for doctor visits. 

Maija and I have our own painting business and get most of our work during summers and then conserving in winter. As my painting partner and wife is going through this cancer, it limits what she can do and what I can currently accomplish as a solo painter. 

We would appreciate any help because we want to maintain our focus on Maija's spiritual as well as physical health. Having less to worry about , especially money will help in many ways to deal with the mounds of stress we are already coping with.
