Help Maine Dragon Boat Club purchase our 1st Boat

Please support our non-profit 

501(c)(3)organization, Maine Dragon Boat Club, by helping us purchase a Dragon Boat that will live on beautiful Lake Pennesseewassee (Norway Lake).

This project originated a few years ago from a suggestion by Dr. P. Rubin, an Oncologist in Maine who mentioned the benefits of dragon boating for breast cancer survivors. His vision was to see Norway, Maine have the first boat.

Dragon boating is a team sport/ recreational activity that improves “health-related quality of life”, including “physical, functional, emotional and spiritual well-being for breast cancer-specific concerns “. 2019 article www.cancer health.com.

Even though the initial discussion was for cancer survivors, we feel that this sport could benefit so many people as the video showed and as our vision and mission reflect.

Vision:

For Maine Dragon Boat Club to be the first in Maine to foster community, compassion, challenge, and competition through the sport of dragon boating.

Mission:

The Maine Dragon Boat club will strive to provide education, training and wellness promotion in our community. We welcome paddlers of any age, experience, ability or those physically challenged to join our dragon boat teams.

Our mission is also to create opportunities for cancer survivors to take part in dragon Boat programs to heal and thrive.

All donations will be used for purchasing the boat and equipment for paddlers.
