Morgan would be overwhelmed by this generous outpouring, as well as having a remembrance of her at her beloved University of Maine School of Law.

We would also like to thank everyone for their prayers, thoughts and kind words during this difficult time.

God Bless all of you.

The Taylor Family

A scholarship is being established in memory of Maine Law Alumni, Captain Morgan Lisa Taylor, who served as a Judge Advocate General Officer (JAG) in the Air Force Academy. Morgan died in a tragic automobile collision on November 12. She was only a month shy of her 32nd birthday.

Morgan was a 2019 graduate of the University of Maine School of Law, where she received the Faculty Award for Trial Advocacy for outstanding performance in her trial advocacy courses. She was born and raised in Phillipsburg, New Jersey, and earned a bachelor's degree from Rutgers University. Morgan moved from her home state of New Jersey to Maine to live with family in Scarborough to attend Maine Law in 2016.

Morgan was very active in the Maine Law Student Bar Association and played softball recreationally. Her friends and classmates remember her as completely selfless and the first person to volunteer for anything. Her preparedness and penchant for organization earned her the nickname “The Morganizer.” She was a hard-working student who frequently burned the midnight oil at the Garbrecht Law Library, where she also worked. Morgan loved escape rooms, board games, and her cat, Aina.

During her time at Maine Law, Morgan decided to become a Judge Advocate for the Air Force. After passing the bar exam in 2020, she completed Officer Training School. Morgan was stationed at Elmendorf Air Force Base in Anchorage, Alaska, but had recently transferred to Colorado Springs, Colorado, in June of 2022. She was traveling en route to Maxwell Air Force Base in Alabama to complete a six-week Squadron Officer School that would earn her a promotion to Major when she was struck head-on by a driver traveling west on the eastbound side of I-70 in Kansas. She is greatly missed by family, friends, classmates and coworkers.
