Mairi Nielsen

Let me Thank you ahead of this for taking time to read about my friend Mairi. 

No one hears the words, “You have cancer” and isn’t completely devestated  by the diagnosis. My friend Mairi certainly was, when she  heard  those dreaded words, and is desperately trying all therapies to beat this insidious disease. Mairi is a mom  of three boys, Richard and Anden, and twins Kyler and Kahlan who are 4 yrs old. She and her husband Josh, have lived in Baker many years.     In her career as a mental heath counselor, she’s touched the lives of so many. As a  mental heath therapist, she’s listened, counseled and provided support to hundreds and hundreds  of people in a our small rural community. 
Mairi was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in June, by the time she was diagnosed, the cancer had spread to her bones, especially her hip causing her excruciating pain. She had surgery to place rods in her hip, strengthening it for the chemotherapy she is  doing daily. Mairi is unable to continue working due to the cancer ravaging her body, the  chemotherapy and radiation she endures daily. This famly needs financial assistance and is so proud, it’s difficult for both to ask for any help. Her vacation/sick time will run out soon, from her work through New Directions NW, Inc.  Mairi has given so much to those in need, now she needs our help. Please help Mairi and her young family any way you are able.
