Help Sarah and her family rebuild their lives

UPDATE 11/25/21: Sarah is doing much better today. Her & her mom upgraded to a bigger hotel room. A very sweet donor provided Thanksgiving dinner to them. But the ~best news~? We were able to catch their kitties today! They received a clean Bill of Health at the vet & I took them to the hotel for Sarah to see them for a few hours.

They are currently looking for a home rental until decisions are made about their damaged residence. This will not be inexpensive for them so we would appreciate if you continue to share their GFM. To secure their ability to manage these expenses and continue to heal with the least amount of stress, we will continue to share their story. Thank you so much!

Update 11/24/21: Sarah returned to the ER last night with severe pain. I’ll be checking in with them this morning. We have them set up at the hotel for a few more days & sent food/toiletries to them last night. They’re hoping to get a rental car today. I’ll get an Amazon wish list made as soon as possible. We attempted to last night but getting items to them in real time was priority so we shopped locally. 

As of now, GFM cannot release any funds until Dec 1st, at earliest. They still need real time cash flow to pay for things.. if you would like to help with that, before Dec 1st, Sherri’s CashApp is $SherriGriggs. She can access that money right away & allow her to manage more independently. 

Again I cannot say thank you enough to every single person who has contributed so far. They have a long road ahead to being established again.. every bit helps. Thank you!! 

Update 11/23/21: the family has settled into an hotel. I have a couple people helping with food, clothes, and toiletries for now. I will be meeting up with Sherri tomorrow night to establish an Amazon Wish List for basic needs (that can’t be secondhand) and go over a plan so they have all they need at whim. 

I increased the amount to help bc we’re slowly learning how much they’ll need to cover the most basic things for now. It sounds like they’re trying to get paperwork and the legal process started so I’m letting them focus on that. Thanks again for everyone’s help so far!

Hey everyone, I’m Rachel and I’m fundraising on behalf of my friend Sarah and her family.

Last night, around 12:15a, a drunk driver plowed through my friend’s house. A 17yo drove through two front yards, over their car, into their front bedroom - pushing Sarah about 12-15ft into the other bedroom. The driver tried to run and neighbors restrained her until authorities arrived. They were able to save their dog but their two cats are missing.

Their house is completely inhabitable and their car is totaled. Sarah ended up in the hospital until mid-afternoon and one older lady is still hospitalized. Sarah is with her aunt.

Their immediate needs are: clothing, toiletries, food, and long term lodging while they figure out paperwork. Long term goals are: affordable home rental that will accept a dog & hopefully their two cats. They are on a limited budget due to disabilities so hopefully this GFM will help offset those costs.
